Analysis: Davis talked a lot of trash earlier in the week about the weak Bears' defense, and while most of what he said was true, he certainly didn't look like a Pro Bowl-caliber tight end on Thursday. Davis has lots of talent but still needs to let that come to the forefront and keep his mouth shut. |

Analysis: Davis had been held without a touchdown over his previous eight games dating to a win over St. Louis on Nov. 16 of last season. He had totaled seven receptions for 72 yards in the first two games of 2009 before Sunday's breakout performance. He could have another big showing next week against the Rams, who are giving up 403.3 yards per game, fourth-most in the NFL. |

Analysis: In fact, the excitable Davis has come a long way just since training camp. A regular fighter during his first three NFL seasons, he scuffled with linebacker Marques Harris during a practice early last month and everybody paid. As in all the Niners running enough "gassers," 12 sprints across the width of the field, to make one pass out as Davis so put it. |
